Go on a wildlife expedition through one of the nation's oldest zoos, the Smithsonian's National Zoo. Located in DC's Woodley Park neighborhood, the National Zoo boasts over 1,800 animals that call the 163-acre park home. Experience the regal roars of lions, the galloping elegance of giraffes, and the grace and power of orangutans and western lowland gorillas. A highlight for most visitors, the National Zoo of DC is only one of four U.S. zoos that care for giant pandas! With exhibits that represent all the major ecosystems of the world, the National Zoo is a memorable immersion into the diversity of wildlife and one of the city's most-popular destinations.
